At Supporting Lives we empower our clients to overcome their barriers in employment so that they can transition out of homelessness and poverty. Our program focuses on each client’s individual strengths and teaches him or her concrete skills while building self-reliance.

In 2011:

  • 60% more people have sought these services since the economic downturn.
  • Over 1,500 individuals were successfully employed in Central Florida.
  • The average cost of our program is $2,000 per client  – a fraction of the cost of similar government-sponsored employment programs.
  • On average, our clients make very competitive wages when they gain employment – considerably higher than Florida’s $7.31 hourly minimum wage.
  • 90% of funds raised went directly to client services.
  • Nearly 600 volunteers spent 18,000 hours mentoring clients and assisting with special projects and events in Central Florida.
